A Huge Hepatic Cyst

Abstract

|
A 60-year-old woman was admitted because of growing abdominal mass and distention. On examination, the mass was palpated on right upper guadrant of the abdomen. Roentgenographic stuides revealed a huge cystic lesion of the liver with mutiple
septation
and fibrous bands. Laparotomy disclosed that the cyst was originated from right lobe of liver being 23×20×15cm in size. The lower portion of the cyst was excised and top part was unroofed with uneventful recovery.
Although mutiple microcystic lesion of liver associated with or without cystic lesion of kidney is not uncommen finding during routine abdominal procedures, a huge cyst which occupies the most part of right liver seems to be unusual
